A Bit About Me

I was born in Oregon and raised by parents who couldn't stand stillness. My childhood was filled with the phases of movement, and the constant dance of introductions. The restless feet of my elders instilled an appreciation for the things we hold onto through transition. My most treasured possessions have always been books. The extensive rock collection was more for it's entertainment factor as I watched my father lug the heavy crate to yet another moving truck!

In college, I studied an eclectic array of subjects that spoke to my passions. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, an AA in Pre-nursing, and group published and presented a qualitative research project focusing on the Real Life Super Hero Movement at the West Coast Psychology Conference. I have certificates in Dementia Care, Childbirth Education, and Childbirth Doula services. I have traveled to India on several occasions, had the honor of listening to the words of a truly wise man, danced on a stage in front of thousands, and received a nickname by a renowned Indian classical musician. I have a passion for outreach and an acute adoration for psychology, sociology, and biology.

I have been dreaming up world's as far back as I can remember.

Eden's Exile

Ari is a young woman living in a closed off, gated city that has survived the decimation of the human race thanks to their vampire keepers. She is frustrated and angry to be stuck in a world in which she has little to no control over her life, but she did not think her future would reside outside the walls of Eden. The adage “be careful what you wish for” is particularly relevant as she discovers truths about herself that force her out of the only life she has ever known, and into a strange new world beyond the city. The story is told from several points of views with Ari remaining a central focus throughout, as she struggles to navigate an unknown world of misinformation and emerging powers.

Prophecies of the Seer

The Seer has been lost in the many paths that lead us forward.

The First Prophecy

When the Changeling pair arise

A King and Queen of hearts

Their power as the prize

All may break apart

The false King, a jesters fool

The darkness claims his heart

And guides him as its faithful tool

To rip us all apart

The world in darkness falls

A weight upon the masses

The pair will use their call

And open up the passes

Nialla's Words to her Sister

Find your love and fall.

Make the bond.

And hide it from them all.

The Shadow will guide you,

He will come to set you free.

Be ready to sing true,

So they may flee.

Take the humans out of Eden

As many as you can

Be the answer to their pleading

Their thoughts of freedom fanned.

To the people of the Plains,

Though your charges will wallow

Their city up in flames.

And the would-be king will follow

These things you must do.

My  little songbird, you are strong

I cannot do them for you.

For the road ahead is long.

Life in the Time of COVID-19Strategies for parents and children dealing with traumatic stress in tight quarters

According to the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, traumatic stress reactions fall into three categories: hyperarousal, reexperiencing, and avoidance and withdrawal.  In uncertain times, our stress levels increase.  For children who have experienced trauma, our most vulnerable and volatile family members, this time of altered schedules and routines is intense and terrifying.

Navigating Volatility: Dysregulation in traumatized children during COVID-19 quarantine

Unpredictability will cause children who have suffered trauma to feel more anxious and fearful, and prolonged confinement due to the current COVID-19 pandemic has created the perfect storm for our stressed and volatile family members to react in ways that may not be safe or appropriate.
