As a newer Twitter user I am discovering new things every day. This week I stumbled upon #VSS365 which stands for Very Short Stories. It's a daily prompt. A single word to inspire a bit of very short writing. If you have not jumped onto this train, or a similar writing prompt activity already, I highly recommend it! The Twitter Flash Fiction daily prompt is a great way to get those creative juices flowing. An excellent warm-up or break from a rough spot in your larger work. So dive in and have some fun! I will be posting my #VSS365 contributions daily on here! Enjoy!

Prompt word: circus
The staff were in an uproar. The usually organized and efficient dance of the triage center had descended into chaos. A #circus. The screams of the dying and the scared filtered through the smoke and rubble. No one expected a bomber in the hospital.#vss365

Prompt word: harmony
The discordant jangles of the chains grate against my ears. Old and heavy things, but they will never take them off. We will live and die in the hulking burden of our station. There is no #harmony on Talus. Only slaves and keepers. #VSS365

Prompt word: coral
The #coral color of her jumper caught my eye. A splash of cheer and brightness amongst the mess of blood and bone that was once a person. Her matching nails were torn and jagged. A once meticulous appearance reduced to so much gore. Another broken doll. #VSS365 #WritingCommunity

Prompt word: find
I #find the note by the door. The sun is setting as I stand there without comprehending. There should be sound: the irrepressible squeals of small children playing before dinner. Not this still and fetid quiet. I clench the note in my fist. They're gone. I am lost. #vss365
